The Best Three Day Stretch of Football Is Here – Shark Predicts Great 8 in NFL & National College Championship

If you are a football fan and AREN'T jacked up for the next three days, you'd better choose a new sport. (Ice moto-cross maybe?). The Great Eight in the NFL and the innaugural national college championship are set to go. Here are my pigskin picks...

DALLAS AT GREEN BAY. SUNDAY @ NOON. Line: Packers by 6.

My Pick: Dallas 23, Green Bay 16.

As you can see by this Dallas-imaged blog and my homer calls on the radio, the Cowboys are my team. It's been 48 years since the Ice Bowl - the epic battle in the frozen tundra of Northern Wisconsin. Lambeau is again the site for a cold-weather battle between the Packers and Cowboys. Green Bay QB Aaron Rogers does very well historically in cold weather games. The Cowboys are undefeated on the road. If Dallas QB Tony Romo gets better protection this week from his offensive line than he did against Detroit, look for a Cowboys victory.

BALTIMORE AT NEW ENGLAND. SATURDAY AT 3:30. Line: Patriots by 7.

My Pick: Ravens 33, Pats 30.

The Patriots have won nine consecutive home games. The last loss? 2012 AFC Title game against the Ravens. Marshall Yanda is our Anamosa Hawkeye Homeboy. One of the best in the league. I like that guy. His team will pull an upset.

CAROLINA AT SEATTLE. SATURDAY AT 7:15. Line: Seahawks by 11.

My pick: Seahawks 42, Carolina 10.

Seattle QB Russell Wilson will get his ball club back to the Super Bowl. Seahawks haven't had a huge year, but they are hot at the right time. The superb Seattle defense of last year's title run is even BETTER this year. Look for another big post season from Richard Sherman. Hope he visits Erin Andrews again after the game. I like when she gets that confused look on her pretty little face.

INDY AT DENVER. SUNDAY AT 3:40. Line: Broncos by 7

My Pick: Colts 24, Broncos 23.

The Colts and QB Andrew Luck posted eleven 300 yard passing games this year. Tops in the NFL. He'll get another one Sunday. The Broncos are getting great ground offense from C.J. Anderson. It's a nice supplement to Peyton Manning's air attack. His old team will stun the Mile Highers. (Sing it with me) "Nationwide will be the only thing on Manning's side" after this weekend.

OREGON vs. OHIO STATE in NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP. MONDAY at 7:30. Line: Oregon by 7.

My pick: Ducks 39, Ohio State 30.

About time we had a true champion in the college game. About 45 years overdue. Not to sound like Beth Malicki or anything...but ducks are fun to feed at Noelridge Park and they have pretty grey uniforms made by some little old lady in Portland just for this game. No BIG 10 homer attitude here towards Ohio State. The very image of a Buckeye helmet with those ridiculous stickers makes me grab the Portable Pepto.
