I was walking around one of the shops in the Amana Colonies this past weekend and noticed a bag of Sterzings on the shelf. That isn't necessarily remarkable -- they currently sell Sterzings chips in most grocery stores. But it reminded me just how much I love these damn chips.

Sterzings are straight out of Iowa. They were first produced in Burlington in 1935 and distributed throughout the state.

Before they landed in grocery stores, I remember hearing tales of people driving for more than an hour to pick up a couple weeks' supply.

I've been a fan since I was a kid. They feel and taste like they've been coated in lard -- which is fantastic.

Do you share my love for Sterzings? Let me know!
