Temple of the Dog — the Seattle supergroup featuring Soundgarden’s Chris Cornell, Pearl Jam’s Jeff Ament, Stone Gossard and Mike McCready, and drummer Matt Cameron (who plays drums with both Soundgarden and PJ) — has reunited! The band will tour for the first time ever. They'll play five U.S. cities in November (I'm wondering if they'll add to that if sales go well).  NOTE: Eddie Vedder is not scheduled to appear, as his vocals on "Hunger Strike" (plus some backing vocals) were his only Temple of the Dog contributions.

Tickets for the shows in Philadelphia, New York, San Francisco, Los Angeles, and Seattle will go on sale to the general public on Friday, July 29th, at 12:00 PM CST. This mini-tour marks the 25th anniversary of the release of Temple of the Dog’s first and only album, released on April 16th, 1991. On September 30th, the band will release a 25th anniversary reissue collection of the album.

Temple of the Dog came together following the death of Mother Love Bone frontman, Andrew Wood, who was Cornell’s close friend. Mother Love Bone’s Gossard and Ament had lost their lead singer and their band, and were just forming a new band that would become Pearl Jam.

Temple of the Dog performed live only a handful of times back in the day. This should be special.
