If you see a teal pumpkin on someone's doorstep while you're out trick-or-treating, it doesn't mean that house is for Smurf costumes only. It means that your child is protected from a possible danger.

Food allergies kill at least 200 people in the United States and make countless more very sick every year. In order to help keep children who may have serious food allergies safe, The Food Allergy Research & Education foundation has created the Teal Pumpkin Project, and you can help!

According to the foundation's website:

FARE’s Teal Pumpkin Project promotes safety, inclusion and respect of individuals managing food allergies. This nationwide movement offers an alternative for kids with food allergies, as well as other children for whom candy is not an option, and keeps Halloween a fun, positive experience for all!
