Eastern Iowa Flooding

The area continues to recover from last night's torrential rains.  The Cedar River in Cedar Rapids swelled over two feet in three hours.  The river was at 9.85 feet at 10:15 last evening and had risen to 12.05 feet by 1:15 this morning following reports of as much as six inches of rain...

More strong storms are expected across Eastern Iowa again this afternoon. The area was pounded by heavy rainfall overnight, with some areas taking in over 5 inches of rain. Flash-flooding, strong winds, hail, and isolated tornadoes are all possible...
