SXSW Unveils Initial Band List for 2015 Music Festival

Start packing your cowboy boots and horn-rimmed glasses -- the first batch of bands playing next year's South By Southwest Music Festival in Austin, Texas, has been announced.

Although it's just a fraction of the acts that will be playing the festival between March 17-22 at a vast array of venues throughout town (and doesn't include many of the big names sure to be announced later on), it should be enough to make you consider snagging a pass now.

Among those revealed: Ben Kweller, Mew, the Twilight Sad, Transit, Jessie Ware, Scott Weiland and the Wildabouts, Carl Barat and the Jackals, Thee Oh Sees and many more. Check all the bands announced here.

The music festival is just one portion of SXSW, which also includes film and interactive components beginning March 13.
