Superheros Swoop in to Cheer up Grieving Iowa Family

This may strike many as a bizarre trend, but a couple in Des Moines invited superheroes to attend the funeral of their stillborn child. Rather than mourn and sit in sorrow, the couple deciced to celebrate their child's time in the womb. Jennifer Leonhard, the mother of the child, contacted the local nerdy comic-book community to spread cheer at this dark event. Batman, Robin and even the Easter bunny were seen in attendence to help friends and family grieve this tragic loss.

“In our darkest hour, we needed to celebrate what we had and who we wanted him to be,we wanted people to have fun in his honor. We needed, desperately, to have one less sad day.”-Bobby Leonhard told the Des Moines Register.
