Sunken Vehicle Recovered From Cedar River

Earlier this month, we told you about a vehicle that had been discovered to be sinking into the Cedar River near Ellis Park.

Police responded at 11 a.m. on March 11 to reports of a car in the river near the Mohawk Park boat ramp.

A woman and two children were rescued from the vehicle, a 2006 Buick Lucerne, and led to safety, before police began investigating and searching for the vehicle. The woman remains hospitalized and now, authorities say, the car has been recovered. The Cedar Valley Dive Unit and Cedar Rapids Police and Fire Departments assisted in the recovery.

The hospitalized woman was not able to be interviewed for more information, and CBS2 is reporting the story.
