The year was 2001. Hall of Fame pitcher Randy Johnson was on the mound. The lanky lefty wound up to throw a fastball and mid-flight, something crazy happened. A bird that was in the ballpark flew in front of the batter at the exact same time the fastball arrived. Let's just say the ball won.

Think about everything that has to time out correct for that to happen! It's something that hasn't been done since. But it ALMOST happened again this week to St. Louis Cardinals pitcher Adam Wainwright. This time, the bird lucked out by a matter of inches!

Birds at the ballpark...you've been warned!
