After Marion and Iowa City West took home the crown in 4A and 5A girls' state basketball Friday night in Des Moines, it was another corridor team's turn later in the weekend.

Springville won its third consecutive state title in Class 1A on Saturday night, knocking down Newell-Fonda, 60-49 for what was also its third straight championship. This "triple crown" was the first since Western Christian did it from 2012-2014.

Cascade girls won as well, defeating Grundy Center in 2A, 41-37.

Eastern Iowa schools have done quite well for themselves in this tournament. This week, it's the boys' turn and we will keep you updated.

Congratulations to all of our local teams from bringing home the hardware from Des Moines this past week.
