Josh Loeffler is a one-of-a-kind guy. While I've only know him for two years (he hired me to be Operations Manager at these Townsquare Media radio stations in July 2014), we have quickly become good friends.

His enthusiasm for the work, his loyalty to his team, and his passion for life were all evident when I first met him. It made my decision to come here an easy one, and one I'll never regret. Josh had been elevated to the position of Market President before he stepped down earlier this year. He now works for VenuWorks, an event management company, so he is still peripherally involved in the radio industry.

Josh has some serious health problems. Since 2013 he's been fighting a rare autoimmune disease called Sarcoidosis. This battle has sidelined Josh for months at a time, but he still manages to be productive in spite of his illness. The dude has undergone more than a few surgeries, including several for a pacemaker! He's on an organ transplant list, which is just a bit more nerve-wracking than being on a Green Bay Packers season ticket wait list. I'm only half kidding of course, because that's how Josh faces life on life's terms. With style. Class. And humor.

But even his positive attitude and drive to succeed is not always enough to combat the effects of failing health. And medical costs continue to pile up like crazy.

So Josh's family and friends thought up an idea for a fundraiser that would be both fun and poignant. And everyone here wanted to tell you about it. Because we love Josh and we want to have him around for a long time.

The Last Ride Benefit Concert will be held Saturday July 9th at McGrath Amphitheater, starting at 5:30 p.m.  Hosted by Tim Sullivan. Featuring Jeff Bruner. Starring The Last Ride.  Buy a ticket. Make a donation. If you have ever met Josh, you know why we care so much about him.
