Chris Soules, the one time star of ABC's The Bachelor, has filed for a change of venue in his trial involving a fatal car crash back in April of 2017. Soule's attorneys argue that he will not be able to get a fair trial in Buchanan County and request the trial be moved to Davenport or Council Bluffs.

Soule's attorneys note the close-knit community and the large amount of media coverage the case has received as reasons for wanting to move the trial. Soules is charged with leaving the scene of a personal injury accident resulting in death. The accident happened on April 24th, 2017 near Aurora. The wreck also involved a tractor driven by 66-year-old Kenneth Moser, who died in the accident. Soules contends that he remained at the scene and performed CPR on Moser. He has pleaded not guilty to the charges.

Prosecutors say that media coverage of the case is not a reason for a change of venue, as coverage has not been inaccurate or inflammatory. A pre-trial conference is set for October 16th.
