After Thursday night's loss to Maryland, the Iowa Hawkeyes will look to rebound with their next two games at Carver-Hawkeye Arena in Iowa City. The loss to the Terrapins moved Iowa's record to 16-4 overall, and 7-1 in Big Ten play. The Hawkeyes were far from their best on Thursday night, but they still managed to hang with a very good Maryland team into the final minute of play. Hopefully the loss to the Terrapins leads to the same kind of success that came after Iowa's last loss against Iowa State back in December.  After that gut-wrenching defeat, the Hawks were able to reel off 9 wins in a row.

On paper, the schedule does get easier for the Hawkeyes, and they should be able to take care of business in their next 3 games. They will host Northwestern on Sunday (1/31) at 2p.m. Then on Wednesday (2/3), Penn State will make their way to Iowa City. The Hawks have to take care of business in those few remaining games on the schedule where they are the heavy favorite. Yes, we're right in the middle of Big Ten play as the calendar flips to February. One more month to go until the madness that March brings.
