I met my buddy Phil yesterday for lunch. We always have one dilemma when we try to meet up: Phil lives in Rock Island, I live in Cedar Rapids. We usually try and meet in the middle of the two cities. Yesterday, after some arguing, we finally agreed on Tipton, Iowa!

This was my maiden voyage to "T-town." You could say I WAS a Tipton virgin...but not anymore.

According to Tipton.org, Tipton is a community of approximately 3,200 residents nestled in the heart of Eastern Iowa. Tipton is located near the metropolitan areas of Iowa City, Cedar Rapids and the Quad Cities. Sounds pretty fancy to me. Let's check it out!

We ate lunch at the Tipton Family Restaurant. Phil had the fish, I had the chicken. It was just like the movie "Airplane!," except neither of us got sick. Great service and fantastic food.

After lunch, we took a walk down main street. What a great little town with cool little shops and stores. The locals made us feel right at home!

Every small town has a place to get a beer. Most small towns have two or three options. We stopped at Mia Terra Mexican Grill for ONE beer. One and done, unfortunately. I was driving, and I'm 43 miles from home.

To wrap up the day, I decided to get a quick hair cut. Nothing better then a small town trim. Special thanks to The Cedar Street Barber Shop!

I had a great time in Tipton. The town is abundant with retailers, professional service businesses and dining options. I had a blast!

What small Iowa town should I visit next? Comment below and we can discuss on The KRNA Morning Show. Thanks to community of Tipton, I'll be back!
