Pain, discomfort, depression, suffering, coping, grieving... these are words often associated with death. All of us get our turn, but American culture typically has a tough time dealing with death. Yes, sometimes death is horrifically unfair, but often times it's just a natural part of life. I'd like to give it up to the late Douglas Legler of North Dakota, who managed to work in humor with his death. His obituary appeared in "The Forum of Fargo-Moorhead" newspaper this week, and it simply stated, "Doug Died."

We all get our turn, folks. Doug Legler's obituary obviously didn't give a lot of details, but judging by the photo, he appears to have lived to an advanced age. We all hope to do that. Maybe it's easier to have a sense of humor about it if you live long enough? Perhaps I'll request my obituary to say, "Well, Bill's Dead."
