A call of a burglary in progress turned into a chase in Davenport this morning and ended with the arrest of seven of eight suspects, inside a vehicle. They were all juveniles.

The Scott County Emergency Communication Center got the call shortly after 4 this morning of a burglary underway in the 25000 block of Valley Drive in Davenport. According to KWQC, a vehicle loaded with eight suspects was observed by police at Devils Glen Road and State Street. When police attempted to stop a 2014 Ford Explorer, the driver fled.

Police used stop sticks to halt the vehicle but it continued on before becoming disabled near East Kimberly Road and Jersey Ridge Road in Davenport. The eight people inside attempted to escape, but everyone except the driver was taken into custody.

Davenport Police say one of the suspects apprehended was a male. The other six were all teenage girls, between 13 and 16-years-old. They have all been charged with Interference with Official Acts (misdemeanor) and 1st-Degree Theft (felony).

All of the suspects were released to their parents who all, obviously, need to keep a better eye on these kids.
