You have to give a lot of credit to the Kansas City Royals. In 2014, they were the team that surprised everybody. After sneaking into the playoffs as a Wild Card, they made a miraculous playoff run only to lose Game 7 of the World Series by one run. That could've been it. They could've been a small market team that made one great run, only to digress and give way to the teams in bigger markets with bigger payrolls. That didn't happen. The Kansas City Royals are the 2015 World Series champs!

The Royals had the best record in the American League this year with a mark of 95-67. However, it was 11 postseason wins this team was after. Their playoff run almost ended 3 weeks ago when they were facing elimination at the hands of the Houston Astros in Game 4 of the ALCS. The Royals were down 6-2 in the 8th inning before scoring 7 runs in the final two innings to force a deciding Game 5 in Kansas City. Unbelievable. On the road and down 4 runs with only 6 outs left in their season, and they didn't quit.

That comeback magic was on full display during the World Series. The Royals came from behind in all 4 of their wins against the Mets. It's cliche, but this resilient team did it the right way. The Royals are celebrating their second World Series victory in team history, and their first since 1985.
