Rough Weekend For RoughRiders
The Cedar Rapids RoughRiders are atop the USHL with only 9 games remaining. The Riders are on pace to win the Anderson Cup, which goes to the League's regular season champion. Here's a look at the up-to-date standings...
Our local hockey team traveled to Lincoln, Nebraska on Friday night (3/11) and fell to the Stars in a shootout, 3-2. On Saturday night, the Riders returned home to The Stable and fell to Dubuque, 4-1. The loss to The Fighting Saints was costly, as it tightens up the race in the Eastern Conference. The RoughRiders and Dubuque have 4 more regular season games remaining... these teams are going to hate each other before the playoffs even start! Those head-to-head games could go a long way in determining what team finishes with the best record in the USHL. Green Bay and Bloomington are on their heels as well.
With only 3 more regular season home games on the schedule, make it a point to get to The Stable to support the RoughRiders! In mid-April, it's Clark Cup Playoffs time!
