Rockwell Collins in Cedar Rapids is making some changes. According to CBS2, the corporation will end their Fabrication Operation, which currently "produces mechanical assemblies for its products", by spring of 2019.

Apparently, this comes after the department suffered years of financial loss, with no sight of a long-term recovery. The decision will affect 105 employees, according to the report. Those employees will be able to apply for open positions within the company.

This news also comes after Rockwell shareholders announced approval for a merger with United Technologies on January 11, as reported in the Des Moines Register.

Will we see more changes to the Rockwell Collins workforce in Cedar Rapids because of this? Let's hope not.
