Where's the syrup?

That's what one attorney is asking in a recent lawsuit against Quaker Oats Co.

The lawsuit claims the company is fraudulently misleading consumers by including a glass pitcher of maple syrup and the words “maple sugar” on packaging for six instant oatmeal products.

This is a BIG deal in the maple-syrup community. The North American Maple Syrup Council, the Vermont Maple Sugar Makers’ Association and other trade groups recently urged the U.S. Food and Drug Administration to crack down on companies whose labels incorrectly suggest the presence of maple syrup.

The lawsuit is playing out in Los Angeles federal court because, as we all know, maple syrup is as glitzy as it gets!

I'll keep you up to date on the maple syrup proceedings.
