Prophets of Rage, the newly created supergroup comprised of three-fourths of Rage Against the Machine, Public Enemy's Chuck D and Cypress Hill's B-Real, have only played one gig to date, but they expect to be seen on a much bigger stage soon. The group plans to have something planned for the Republican National Convention, which will be held next month in Cleveland.

"There's a thing called the Republican National Convention in July," guitarist Tom Morello told Bloomberg Politics (embedded above), "and that'll be a perfect place for a band like Prophets of Rage to cause a ruckus. And we will be there on the streets, in the fields, and in the conscience."

But Morello, who was wearing a hat that read "Make America Rage Again" -- a take on presumptive Republican nominee Donald Trump's campaign slogan -- was a bit coy when giving further details. “We have a venue, and there may be venues that will be sort-of spontaneous venues," he continued. "It’s hard to say. This is the kind of thing you don’t broadcast to the local authorities prior to arrival [laughs].”

Chuck D admitted that he has never seen a difference between the two major parties, and Morello noted that the dissatisfaction among the electorate spreads across the political spectrum. "People -- right, left and center -- believe that the system as it stands does not serve their needs," he said. "But what they’re being offered up, through the tiny funnel of the electoral process, is a racist demagogue on the one hand, and a great sort-of dreamer on the other hand, and in the middle is the lesser of three evils. None of those choices are good enough for us. There needs to be an alternate voice, one that’s unfiltered, uncompromising, and stands unapologetically with the people."
