I know a few people who share passwords for streaming services in an effort to save a little money, but they better stop. It's now a federal crime.

One of the favorite passwords to share is a person's Netflix account. If you're doing it, STOP right now.

KCCI reports three U.S. Court of Appeals judges in the Ninth Circuit have criminalized any and all sharing of passwords.

It all stems from the case of the United States v. David Nosal, who had left his job but kept using the password of someone who still worked there to download employee information.

Downloading employee information is pretty serious business, obviously. Now, any sharing of online passwords is also illegal, including Netflix, so think before you stream.
