Yesterday's dense fog may have been a factor in an accident that claimed the life of an Eastern Iowa woman. The Iowa State Patrol says that 78-year-old Delores Pickering of Newhall died after a two-vehicle crash at 30th Avenue and Highway 30 yesterday at around 8:45 a.m.

Troopers say that a vehicle occupied by 63-year-old Charles Ancelet and 63-year-old Regina Ancelet was northbound on 30th Avenue when it failed to yield before entering Highway 30. Their vehicle collided with the car that Pickering was driving. The Ancelets were transported to a local hospital.

All passengers in the vehicles were wearing their seatbelts. The accident remains under investigation.
