Back in the day, before button bars on CPU's, movie houses had some creative ways to make sounds on the set. Shuffling a piece of gum wrapper sounds like a fire, for instance.
Here's an instrument that makes several sound effects...perfect for horror films.

You could put a shiver into your housemate with that piece. 'Tis the season for horror movies. I'll do have a check on the greatest of all time later this month. Meantime, let's look at a flop.

I hit the Cedar Rapids Library and had a look at the "scary section" the other day. An Ashley Judd flick caught my eye. "Bug" from 2006. It was horrible, as many horror flicks are. I'd call it soft horror...with a splash of soft porn. When Ash and her freaky lover lit each other on fire at the end, the end finally came for suffering viewers.
