Officer Response to Domestic Disturbance in Cedar Rapids Results in Death

Officers were called to respond to a domestic disturbance at 9:30 last night in Cedar Rapids. The disturbance took place at Valley High Apartments at 1735 Edgewood Road Northwest. While the events of the incident are still under investigation, what we do know is the 25-year-old male suspect was pronounced dead later that night at St. Luke's Hospital. Both officers will be put on administrative leave pending the investigation by the Detective Chief Inspectors as per policy of the department.
