The Fareway grocery store in North Liberty will be closed indefinitely after a fire filled the store with smoke Sunday morning.

Firefighters responded to the call at around 10:30 a.m. Sunday and found smoke coming from the roof of the building. Once they entered the store, they saw it was filled with smoke, and that the sprinkler system had been triggered. Officials say the fire originated in a refrigerator in the produce section of the store.

The store was closed at the time of the fire. Officials say that a damage estimate isn't known, and the store will remain closed until further notice.
