There still aren't many details known about Netflix's adaptation of Marvel Comics' The Defenders series other than some members of the cast, but we know that they have great taste in music. The teaser uses Nirvana's monster hit, "Come as You Are."

The clip, which you can see above, features no action or people, but rather layers being stripped away to give clues about things whose importance will be revealed in the series, such as a replication of a church's sign in the shape of a cross with "Sin Will Find You Out" in neon, "Property Seagate Prison" and a phone message memo with "Who is Danny Rand?" written on it. Spoiler alert: He's "Iron Fist," and he's played by Finn Jones.

Throughout it, Kurt Cobain's voice, without musical accompaniment, pops up, howling "Come as You Are." As the word "Defend" in Never Mind the Bollocks, Here's the Sex Pistols-cut-from-different-sources-style text appears on the screen, a disembodied voice drawls, "You think the four of you can save New York? You can't even save yourselves." Then, the song's familiar guitar riff kicks in.

Marvel premiered this and other teasers during their panel at San Diego Comic-Con, where they also gave away a one-sentence synopsis of the plot. "Danny Rand returns to New York City, after being missing for years, to fight corruption with a proficiency in kung-fu and the ability to call upon the power of the Iron Fist."

"Come As You Are" was the second single from Nirvana's Nevermind, the album widely credited with beginning the grunge revolution of the early '90s. The song only reached No. 32 but its video was in heavy rotation on MTV.

The Defenders will premiere on Netflix at an unknown date in 2017.
