Iowans are getting healthier. That's according to at least one national organization the ranks the healthiest states in the U.S. According to the 2016 America Health Rankings, Iowa moved up from 22nd to 17th.

Experts believe that some changes in Iowa's health care scene could be showing benefits, including the Blue Zone Movement, which encourages people to eat in moderation and exercise daily. Also, a great emphasis on health by employers is also credited with the healthier ranking.

The survey also found that the immunization rate for children in Iowa is also on the rise, another factor in Iowa's improving numbers.
