The Insane Inflatable 5K was fantastic. Our 2-day celebration of all things blown up and stretched out saw thousands enjoy a great weekend. We came. We saw. We ran [and walked], jumped, rolled and dove across the Kirkwood campus.

My favorite obstacle was the last one. That free-fall was a lot of fun. I"m paying for the head-first slide, but it's nothing a little analgesic balm can't sure. The space shuttle was stunningly awesome as was "Big Balls." The Dock Dogs were flying when we flew [strolled] past. They seemed jealous. In fact, I think my dogs would have enjoyed it. Maybe we should petition for a canine wave next year. We had one of the biggest crowds the guys from II5K have seen this year. Ours had such a big buzz, we carried over the entries right into Father's Day.

Those storms midday Saturday camp precariously close to Kirkwood, but never really went south of Highway 30 with any intensity. Just north of our 5K course in midtown Cedar Rapids and Marion, hailstones pelted the metro area. I'm glad we were able to get all the waves in. The Father's Day forecast was all about the heat and humidity. Perfect running conditions.

Thanks to Go Daddy's big crew for sponsoring our run and for launching the festivities in style on Saturday morning. Everything that organization does for it's employees is first class. I've seen that time after time. Great to have them onboard. If you ran with us or cheered on your people, thanks for your involvement in the Insane Inflatable 5K.

Speaking of that Go Daddy group, here's a some more pictures from the event.

We'll see you next summer as we roll our a new course for Round Two.
