Houston......we have problem.

Mount Thrashmore has been on the airwaves here at 94.1 KRNA for a little over 6 months. The show features a mix of "old school" hair metal music mixed in with a little 80's "thrash." Things were going great.....until the beer ran out.

I host the show with Curt Burgess, local music legend and long bearded bug guy. Curt has a vast knowledge of the music we play, but lately, we haven't been agreeing on the selection of the songs. A fist fight nearly broke out in our last production meeting!

Here's the deal, we only have 2 hours each week. I want to make sure we give fans of the show good songs from start to finish. I know Curt feels the same, but we both have a different view of what songs are better then others. Tempers really flared last Sunday at the Eagles Club in Cedar Rapids. We had a huge blowup in front of the (mostly elderly) crowd at the bar enjoying cheap drinks and free popcorn. That night, I'll admit, I was a little scared of my co-host!

He prefers deep cuts...I mean REALLY deep. It's also very obvious he prefers to spin the heavier side of the music of that era. Keep in mind, I have no issue with that. But I also want to make sure we have a good mix of some of the other great metal bands that dominated the 80's and early 90's.

He feels I play too much of the "hair metal" bands. He wants more B sides of King Diamond, Exodus, Machine Head and Savatage. He hates that I slip in a Britny Fox or Warrant song into the show.....but I just want to find a good mix of tunes that will make everyone happy.

I thing we can both agree on this: Let's leave it up to you, the loyal KRNA listener. Comment below and tell us what songs you would like to hear on this week's show. We will do our best to accommodate!

Special thanks to the sponsor of the show, Tailgators in Cedar Rapids. The club is knows for great live music, a strong Vodka and Cran, and the best potato chips in Linn County!

If we can't work things out, I may replace myself with Eric Stone or John Tesh from our sister station, 104.5 KDAT.

Wouldn't that be fun!
