A bill that would have expanded Iowa's Medical Marijuana Laws failed in the Iowa House on Monday night. The proposal would have expanded the list of conditions that make people eligible for obtaining cannabis oil, but critics say the bill didn't create a clear way for patients to get the drug.

Cannabis oil has been legal in Iowa since 2014, but even if you are among those medical patients who can legally use it, you can't buy it here. It's not legal to produce in the state. Last year the Iowa Legislature tried to pass a bill that would have created an in-state manufacturing system, but it too failed.

It could be the end of the road for the issue for this legislative session. Lawmakers are trying to push through a state budget and adjourn for the session.
