This week is the South by Southwest music and arts festival in Austin, Texas.

It's a massive convergence of bands playing some pretty epic music. People come from all over the country to jam out and listen to some incredible artists. It's definitely on my life to-do list.

With all of the hype and people certainly comes huge corporations and corporate sponsors. Enter arguably the most entertaining story leading up to SXSW:

McDonald's didn't want to pay artists performing at their annual SXSW showcase.

This story went viral when the band Ex Cops revealed that Micky D's asked them to play for free.

Being that the company's net worth is roughly $97 billion, this development didn't sit well with many people.

But fear not! In the wake of public outcry and a potential PR mess, McDonald's has now agreed to pay the bands.

Isn't that nice?
