It looks like the Marion Maid-Rite is closing it doors after 31 years. The owners posted a letter on their official Facebook page, you can CLICK HERE to read the sad news.

I started eating at the Maid-Rite back in 1997 when I moved to Iowa. I quickly became friends with the owners and staff. The food was always top notch and served with a smile. I'm really going to miss this place.

The Maid-Rite was special. It was a cozy little restaurant that valued its customers. We didn't have "Maid-Rites" in Minnesota, I quickly learned how great they tasted and became a huge fan.

It wasn't just the food that made the place so special. The staff treated the customers like family. By the second time I had lunch there, they were already calling me by my first name. It was a friendly café, with AWESOME food. The portions were big and it wasn't over priced. I'm not sure I ever had a bad meal at the Maid-Rite.

The final day of business will be on January 31, 2017. It will be a sad day when the doors are closed for the last time. Please stop by and enjoy one more Maid-Rite, before it's too late.

I want to thank the owners who have worked so hard running this business. Ellie, Teri and Nicole, I wish you the best. Thanks for your many years of service, and making some of the best food in the state of Iowa. We're going to miss you.....
