Imagine going to a banquet for your daughter's high school sports team and a male stripper begins to disrobe. Even more shocking was who hired him.

Phil Roeder, District Spokesman for the Des Moines Community School District, confirms a male stripper was at the school's synchronized swimming club banquet for 'The Sharks,' last Friday. Who hired him? A group of ninth-grade girls. They did it as a joke but needless to say, the school district didn't find it funny. Roeder told the Des Moines Register, "The stripper was hired by one of the student's adult sisters. There was no touching, and... the stripper didn't complete their performance."

The "performer" didn't finish because, according to Roeder, he was asked to leave. Wait, I know what you're thinking. A parent went "WAIT A MINUTE." Nope, an employee of the club put a stop to the show, according to Roeder. Roosevelt Principal Kevin Biggs says the uh, gentleman, performed for about 15 minutes. 15 MINUTES! It should be noted there were only parents and students at the event, no one from the school.

Biggs has decided no punishments will be handed out. He told the Des Moines Register, "It's not illegal. It's immoral, in our eyes. But immoral doesn't necessarily mean that students are going to face consequences such as suspensions, or something along those lines."

'The Sharks' synchronized swimming club was founded in Des Moines in 1926. The team consists of nearly 40 girls from Roosevelt High School... including some who made a very poor decision. Joke, or not, humor may not have been the only thing on their minds.
