Major Pot Bust In Madison County

A major drug bust went down over the weekend in Madison County. According to KCRG TV 9, "Deputies obtained a search warrant for a house on Pammel Road, just outside of Winterset. They found marijuana, $8,000 in cash, stolen guns and a stolen ATV."

Two people, Charles and Blake Merrifield, are in some serious trouble. They were arrested by Madison County authorities. The KCRG story said they're both facing felony charges for intent to deliver marijuana and meth, as well as possession of stolen property. Not a good day for these two.

Winterset has a population of 5,190. Living in a city that size, I'm guessing everyone knows each other pretty well. I grew up in a small town, and I know that news travels very fast.... I'm sure it didn't take long for the authorities to figure this one out.
