Several KRNA artists are hittin' the Windy City this weekend for Lollapalooza. The annual festival, created in the early 1990's by Perry Farrell, has had a weekend stop in Chicago every summer since 2005.

I made it to all 3 days of Lollapalooza 2007... got to see awesome artists like Arctic Monkeys, Black Keys, Kings of Leon and Pearl Jam.  It was a great time, but I also realized I was getting too old for 3 consecutive days out in the summer heat!  I went to just one day back in 2009... saw Tool close out Saturday's performances.

If you're up for a road trip to Chicago this weekend, here's when you can check out some cool artists...

  • Florence + The Machine - Sunday, August 2nd
  • alt-J - Friday, July 31st
  • TV On The Radio - Sunday, August 2nd
  • Twenty One Pilots - Sunday, August 2nd
  • Catfish and the Bottlemen - Saturday, August 1st
  • Elle King - Saturday, August 1st

A memorable Lollapalooza moment that I witnessed came back in 2007 when Eddie Vedder joined Kings of Leon on stage. Enjoy the video below...

Of course, Cedar Rapids has its very own festival just around the corner... The NewBo Music Festival- Saturday, August 8th... Young the Giant, Allen Stone and 5 other bands!  All ages.  Outdoors.  Be there.
