As the government shutdown nears the five-week mark, a local restaurant is offering a free meal to federal workers and KHAK is teaming with them to provide free lunch to Transportation Security Administration (TSA) workers at the Eastern Iowa Airport.

Tomorrow (Thursday, January 24), Wild Hogs Saloon and Eatery in Walford will be giving the K-Hawk staff free lunches to distribute to both shifts of TSA workers at the airport. I want to extend our gratitude to Michelle and her staff at Wild Hogs for helping us say 'thank you' to these hard-working men and women who continue to work without pay, assisting and protecting those who fly our friendly skies each day.

Wild Hogs is also offering free food to other government workers affected by the shutdown. Any federal employee either currently not working, or working without pay, can show their work badge at Wild Hogs Thursday to receive a free burger and fries for themselves AND up to two other members of their family. It's available for lunch or dinner Thursday.

Thank you again to Wild Hogs and to all federal workers impacted by the government shutdown. We hope the government reopens VERY soon and your lives can return to normalcy. God bless you all.
