Life is Pretty Good for Jonathan Toews
27 years old. 3 Stanley Cups. 2 Olympic Gold Medals. Conn Smythe Trophy winner (MVP of 2010 Playoffs). Frank J. Selke Trophy winner (most skilled defensive forward, 2013). 2015 Mark Messier Leadership Award winner. Captain of the newly christened hockey dynasty, Chicago Blackhawks. Very hot girlfriend. Yes, things are pretty good for Jonathan Toews these days.
Toews was born April 29, 1988 in Winnepeg, Canada. He was the third overall pick by the Blackhawks in the 2006 NHL Entry Draft. Less than a decade later, do you think Chicago is happy with that draft pick? He helped the Blackhawks end a 49-year championship drought back in 2010. This month, he hoisted the most famous trophy in sports for the third time in six seasons.
I already knew about Toews and his numerous accolades. Last night, however, I learned about another of his great accomplishments. He was accompanied to the 2015 NHL Awards by his girlfriend, Lindsey Vecchione. Bravo, Mr. Toews. Bravo.
