I'm with Louis C.K. and his classic bit about this modern world full of amazing stuff being used by unhappy idiots. I try to appreciate flying 500 MPH at 30,000 feet while snacking on corn nuts and talking to a friend on an air phone.

He has a classic line about how it used to take 30 years to go from NY to L.A and now it's 5 hours. There's more computing power in my Galaxy S3 than that which the space program had for the moon mission in 1969. I don't need to pull over and rifle through a paper map trying to find my destination. That alone should temper the rage, right? No, we want more and more and more...and have the attention span of a gnat.

The Beatles said "All You Need Is Love." Are we still down that? Is it that overwhelming sense that we need something we don't have? Are those Lexus commercials that depict the unattainable good life setting the bar too high? Screw it, just get to the bar so you can wash away thy anxiety.

Should we, as the public service announcements and billboards say, "get into the forest?" Would that help us become a little more grounded? Probably not. Too many bugs and not enough digital bug zappers.

Soon I’ll take a look at something we'll soon take for granted too: Robots! Until then, I'll do my own dishes and hug my cell phone...but bitch about it just a smidge.
