KRNA On-Air DJs Debut Today
The live and local team is now on the air at 94.1 KRNA!
It's been a few crazy weeks since the "back-to-our-roots" format change. We've purposely postponed the start date of our DJ's for several reasons.
- We wanted to give you time to listen to the new format with less interruption.
- We've been busy with our Fantasy Football picks.
- Our Labor Day weekend got a little out of hand.
OK, only one of those three bullet points is true.
Mostly we just wanted to make sure we were choosing the best DJ's for the job.
6am-9am: Jaymz Larson is a Cedar Rapids fixture at Kernels and Roughriders games. His recent "KRNA is Back" video reached over 30,000 people and got hundreds of views on the KRNA You Tube channel. Jaymz will host the "SHUT UP AND ROCK" Morning Show Mondays-Friday 6:00 a.m. - 9:00 a.m.
9am-2pm: Micki Slick will host the "Workforce" starting at 9:00 a.m. with 94 minutes of commercial-free classic rock. Micki is well-known to fans of the original KRNA, having been one of the top DJ's in the station's long history. We're thrilled she is back on the air! Her show airs Mondays-Fridays 9:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.
2pm-7pm: Mike Ferris is the afternoon DJ who drives it all home with another 94 minutes of commercial-free rock to end the "Workforce" at 5:00 p.m. Ferris is the one who gets all the complaints from listeners of the old format, because he was the instigator of this entire change-a-roo.
7pm-12am: Last but not least, we welcome Zach Martin and his show "Ultimate Classic Rock" weeknights 7:00 pm. - 12:00 a.m. Zach is a clever, sincere-but-smart-mouthed night time DJ who always has an interesting story to tell about the artists and songs, along with a dose of the rock-n-roll-gossip.
Weekends bring our favorite rock warriors back with the return of Bill Hahn and Valerie Hiatt.
So that's the lineup. Our DJ's will be brief, to-the-point, and will always have something worth talking about. We won't waste your time. That's our promise to you.
Remember, the 94.1 KRNA motto is SHUT UP AND ROCK. and that's just what we'll do.
