It had been a tough week for the Chicago Cubs. They mustered a series split against the stumbling Cincinnati Reds, only to follow that up by getting swept by the lowly Philadelphia Phillies. Cole Hamels even no-hit the Cubs on July 25th for an added insult.

Earlier this month, the team headed into the All-Star break holding one of the two National League Wild Card positions. After losing 5 of 7, the Cubs are now on the outside looking in. In short, this was a team needing a win. They almost blew an opportunity Monday night, but All-Star rookie Kris Bryant saved the day.

The Cubs held a 7-4 lead over the Colorado Rockies heading into the 9th inning at Wrigley Field on Monday night. The bullpen coughed up the lead, giving up 4 runs. Bryant stepped to the plate with a runner on, down one run, with 2 outs in the bottom of the 9th... enjoy!
