Starting in 1995 when he realized he needed a fourth part-time job to make ends meet, Eddie James has been something of a radio chameleon.

In the space of four years, he worked behind the microphone at no fewer than four stations in the market (occasionally at the exact same time) using various on-air aliases including Max Blaster, Commissioner Jim Gordon, the Subverter, Carter Edison, and Eduardo Jaime.

Eddie has been absent the local airwaves since he fled to a beach on the west coast of Mexico in late 1999, fearing that the "Y2K bug" would mean the end of civilization in general, and of the unsustainable American way of life in particular.

His refugee status earned him political asylum, and he eventually joined a professional wrestling circuit, where he assumed "Total Package" as yet another stage name. Inspired by the storied bordertown tradition of betting on cockfights, Eddie dressed as a giant fighting cock in the ring, wearing a costume he constructed himself from ostrich feathers.

Although he has made a home of his car in the past, he has now foresworn internal combustion as the devil's work. Wishing to rededicate himself to his lapsed vows of poverty and celibacy, he has come back to KRNA seeking Nirvana and other great rock bands.
