Brace yourself for the start of winter weather.

The weekend forecast from CBS2/Fox28 says it will be partly cloudy and cold Saturday with a 20% chance of precipitation and a high of 38.

But the real first blast of winter will arrive late Saturday night and Sunday morning when a cold rain will change to snow possibly accumulating an inch or two in some parts of Eastern Iowa by midday Sunday.

Sounds sloppy. And delightful. All at the same time.

It's funny how the first snow of the season affects us - at first we are thrilled to see the wonder of snow once again...but that joy quickly passes as we trudge through the cold wet messy stuff for the first time.

Not to worry, says the weather team at CBS2. With temperatures expected to reach 37 degrees by Sunday afternoon any accumulations won't likely be around for long.

Just remember to leave a little early and to drive a little slower if you'll be traveling this Sunday morning.
