Don't look now, but the Iowa Hawkeyes sit atop the Big Ten standings in baseball.

The Hawks looked good during the early part of their schedule, but they also played some mediocre competition and no one was really sure just how good they were.

Then they took two of three at 19th-ranked Maryland this past weekend.

They dropped a close game at Bradley last night, 5-4, but that isn't dampening any spirits.

Iowa is currently 23-10 overall, 8-1 in the B1G. That's right, 8-1. The national polls for college baseball are sort of weird, but Iowa is ranked anywhere from 14th to 25th in the country. It's been a LONG time since Iowa was this good in baseball. Coach Rick Heller is doing a hell of a job down in IC.

You can catch the Hawks in action tonight at Duane Banks Field at 6:05 against Cornell College. Iowa also has a home series this weekend against conference foe Northwestern.
