It seems like we're hit with reports of food recalls every week. We've had things like salads at McDonalds and breakfast cereals recalled because of food born illnesses. You can now add Hy-Vee to the list.

The grocery store chain has announced that it is recalling it's Spring Pasta Salad because of fears that it could be contaminated with Salmonella. Hy-Vee is taking action after reports of nearly 20 illnesses that could be linked to customers eating the salad. Sicknesses have been reported in Iowa, Minnesota, Nebraska, and South Dakota.

The recall covers both one pound and three pound containers of the Hy-Vee brand Spring Pasta Salad produced between June 1st and July 13th. The containers have expiration dates of between June 22nd and August 3rd. Hy-Vee says that the salad was distributed to all of its stores, but those stores have removed the product from its shelves.

If you have purchased some of the salad, you should dispose of it immediately or return it to your local Hy-Vee store for a full refund.
