It's been almost 2 weeks since we've last seen the Iowa Hawkeyes women's basketball team in action. The last time we watched Caitlin Clark and her teammates play was in the Big Ten Championship game against Nebraska.

You remember how that went, right? An overtime thriller with the Hawkeyes taking the ship with a final score of 94-89. You know, the Hawks' third Big Ten championship win in a row. Typical awesome Iowa Hawkeyes women's basketball.

The madness has begun and the Iowa Hawkeyes know who they will be facing in the first round of the NCAA Women's Basketball Tournament. As a No. 1 seed, the Hawks knew they were going to face 16-seed. Holy Cross won on to beat UT Martin in the First Four to earn that No. 16 spot.

The #1 Iowa Hawkeyes will be taking on the #16 Holy Cross Crusaders in Hawkeye territory. Holy Cross finished the season with a record of 21-12 and won the Patriot League Women's Basketball Champions in a win over Boston University.

The Crusaders are led by Bronagh Power-Cassidy, a senior guard from Dublin, Ireland. Ironically enough, they won the Patriot League championship on St. Patrick's Day. Power-Cassidy averages 16.7 ppg compared to Caitlin Clark's 31.9 ppg.
