When I walked into work today, I was getting some strange looks as sauntered down the hall. I wasn't paying it much attention until someone asked me if I was looking for the sled dogs. Apparently, I'm a little too dressed.

They said it wasn't that cold to need that many layers. I informed them that they are crazy and must have gone numb from the arctic wind. Then they said something that completely blew my mind. They said that it would be getting...

Well, thank goodness my buddy Eric Stone was thoughtful enough to point me in the direction of "10 Things No One Tells You About Surviving An Iowa Winter" by the website OnlyInYourState.com.

It warns of dangers like black ice, widespread power outages, cripplingly low visibility, and giant piles of snow in which entire families have been lost.

It also talks of sledding, fun, crisp mornings, and other fun things I'll have to remember while the wind is peeling the skin off of my face.
