Is it wrong for me to be ridiculously entertained by the commentary provided by Ray Lewis on the NFL’s recent abuse scandals?  Yes, Ray Lewis is a Hall of Fame caliber former linebacker.  He is also the man who has an obstruction of justice charge on his record from a murder case back in 2000.  So it seems an odd choice that ESPN has turned to him for his opinion on the recent controversies involving Ray Rice and Adrian Peterson.

Domestic abuse and child abuse are no laughing matter.  Sadly, one can’t help but laugh when seeing the handling of these stories by the league and, on occasion, its media partners.  When ESPN added Ray Lewis to its panel of experts, maybe they thought he was a good addition for football analysis.  Now they’re stuck with him giving his opinion on controversial behavioral matters.  Uh Ray, what exactly went down back in 2000?
