Helen Hunt stars as West High Coach in “Miracle Season”

The premier of the movie "Miracle Season" is coming up Sunday, March 18 at 2 p.m. at the Englert Theater in Iowa City.

The movie is about how the Iowa City West High volleyball team rallied after its star player tragically died in a moped crash. The movie stars Helen Hunt as West High Volleyball Coach Kathy Bresnehan, and William Hurt as Caroline Found's father.

Nicknamed "Line" by her teammates, Caroline Found died on August 11, 2011, right before the start of West High's volleyball season. The team had won the state championship in 2010, with Found as the team's star.

The true story is based on the book of the same name written by Bresnehan. The team would go on to beat Iowa City High in the state championship game.
