The staff here at 94.1 KRNA would like to wish a very Happy Birthday to Izzy Stradlin! The former rhythm guitar player for Gun's N' Roses turns 56 today. He was born on April 8, 1962, in Lafayette, Indiana.

Stradlin founded Guns N' Roses with Axl Rose back in 1985. The band went on to sell millions of records and became on of the biggest bands in rock and roll history. On November 7, 1991, Izzy announced he was leaving the band.

Izzy is responsible for co-writing some of the bands biggest songs. His name often gets forgotten because everyone remembers Slash, Axl and Duff. Izzy was the quiet one of the group, and it was very obvious he wasn't a big fan of the craziness that came along with being in one of the biggest bands in the world.

I'm crossing my fingers that Izzy will join the group for one more tour. It would be great to see the 5 original members together on stage one more time.

Until then, enjoy the day, Izzy. Here's to 56 more.
